Starting in 1974 in Atlantic City, NJ, FACSS has organized an international conference at the forefront of analytical chemistry and allied sciences. This conference has twice been organized in Canada and has rotated through Eastern, Western, Midwestern, Southern, and Northern locations. The conference features analytical symposia, sessions, plenary talks, awards, poster, workshops, and a technical exposition. The conference features a high attendee to presentation ratio (approximately 75%) and has a high percentage of contributed content (oral and poster presentations). In 2011, this conference was formally named the SciX conference presented by FACSS.
Starting in 1974, the meeting has borne the designation as the National Meeting for the Society for Applied Spectroscopy (SAS).
Each year, a dedicated group of volunteers has conceived and brought to fruition an encompassing Analytical Chemistry meeting. By clicking on a particular meeting/location/year you will find information on those individuals, the conference program, details of awardees and their presentations, candid picture from the meeting, and a catalog of the scientific exchange that has been a hallmark of these meetings.
